John Varvatos Enterprises has announced the first John Varvatos USA “FREE THE NOISE” battle of the bands contest, a global online search for the next great rock n’ roll band hosted on SPINearth.tv. The winning band will receive a development deal with Island Records and be featured in the next John Varvatos « USA international advertising campaign, as well as featured on SPIN Earth. The Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands has announced that FameCast’s music contest management platform will power this year’s Battle of the Bands competition for the 2009 Vans Warped Tour. Unsigned bands hoping to earn a spot to play alongside bands like Flogging Molly, Less than Jake, NOFX and The Devil Wears Prada at one of the Warped Tour’s 46 stops in the U.S. and Canada can upload an audio or video file online. Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young are both set to play the Hard Rock Calling 2009 event in London this June and there is room on the bill for another band. To find that lucky group, Hard Rock is holding a contest called Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands. In it, local groups will compete for a spot on the stage at Hard Rock Calling. Battles will take place at select Hard Rock Cafes and one winner from each participating city will be judged by a panel of music industry insiders and artists like E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt. Labeled a world-class, extravaganza the Verizon Wireless BamaJam Music & Arts Festival (June 4 – 6, 2009) held in Enterprise, AL includes the Jim Beam BamaJam Battle of the Bands.
